 Tour Plan – 5 days / 4 nights

Upon arrival to the airport (BIA), you will be warmly greeted by our representative, and taken to your hotel in Negombo.

After breakfast, transfer to Dambulla rock cave temple.

This 1st century B.C rock caved golden temple is home to some of the most extraordinary buddha paintings in the world. The mural paintings and 157 buddha statues tell different stories of the life of Lord Buddha, and this is a UNESCO world heritage site.

Thereafter, visit the sacred city of Anuradhapura.

For about 1,400 years Anuradhapura was the sacred capital of Sri Lanka back when kings were ruling. The marvelous monuments, precise sculpture and paintings of this UNESCO world heritage site truly showcase Sri Lanka’s culture.

Overnight at hotel in Sigiriya.

After breakfast, visit the Sigiriya rock fortress.

This big rock in the jungle is probably the most magnificent monument that Sri Lanka has to offer. It is a UNESCO world heritage site and the site was known from ancient times as a hermitage for Buddhist monks. The complex architecture includes some of the oldest landscaped gardens in Asia.

In the afternoon, visit the ancient city of Polonnaruwa.

This is a UNESCO world heritage site and also the mediaeval capital of Sri Lanka. The city of Polonnaruwa is a beautiful display of our cultural heritage. This site is much more complicated than Anuradhapura. In the Gal Vihara complex, you will see three enormous Buddha statues carved out of one single rock.

Overnight at hotel in Sigiriya.

After breakfast, transfer to Kandy.

Great kings ruled this sacred city for almost 225 years until the British took over in 1815; Kandy, a UNESCO world heritage site, was the last capital of the Sinhala kings. Kandy is known as the hill capital of Sri Lanka and hosts the annual Esela Perehera that takes place in the month of August showcasing more than 100 finely decorated elephants.

Visit the Temple of the tooth relic.

This temple holds the sacred tooth relic of Lord Buddha. For Buddhists all over the world, this is one of the most sacred places.
